What is the Grange

The Grange Defined

Our Grange is a family-oriented homesteading organization with roots in rural communities all across America.

We are also a fraternal Order which distinguishes us from the other farm or rural groups.

People joining the Grange find it a unique and wholesome experience.

Young couples find it particularly attractive because of the family atmosphere;

Senior citizens enjoy the companionship and social aspects;

Homesteaders because of its legislative influence and educational opportunities;

and teenagers find a forum to develop leadership abilities.

Farm Organization in the country.

We encourage our members to develop and display their talents in Photography,

Homesteading,

Both Education & Entertainment,

Arts, and Crafts!

The Grange takes the lead in community affairs as many of its members are the leaders in the community.

Organized in 1867

The Grange has served our nation's farmers/homesteaders longer then any other organization.

Community

The Grange community consists of 150,000 members in 1,700 local chapters across the nation that each serve as the center of rural life in their farming communities. Each local chapter offers a wide range of locally oriented programs annual Grange fairs, and community service events and activities like pot luck dinners!

This charitable work is often the focus at local granges with members giving thousands of volunteer hours and raising millions of dollars for important causes. Through this out reach granges help improve the lives of their own members and of neighbors in their rural communities. Whether by helping a neighbor in need or by organizing a bake sale to raise money for a local school, Grange members will be there serving their communities.

The Grange is for the whole family. With Junior grange and grange youth, anyone has a place in the grange. These youth members conduct their own meetings, learn about leadership and service, and participate in fun activities. The Grange is for everyone!
